Pete was bartending for a fundraiser one night when he saw a stunning girl out in the crowd. He asked his fellow bar backs who she was.
“Don’t worry about her,” they said. “She’s not thirsty.”
Pete was confused. How did they know? The night wore on and he still couldn’t forget about Angela and finally offered to pour her a drink. With continued heckling from the other bartenders, Pete asked what their deal was. Turns out, they were Angela’s uncles.
Italians, you see… they stick together. This was merely one of many adventures Pete would have with Angela’s family. It was all in good fun and Pete eventually grew beloved in their big Italian family. Being an only child, Pete inherited hundreds of new loud, crazy Italian relatives. And I’m pretty sure he also loves being the only one over 5’6 tall.
Being from a similar loud Italian family myself I can relate. Everything is bigger, better and louder in the eyes of Italian relatives and your 200 cousins… it’s a constant party surrounded by love at every turn… and lots of lasagna.
From the moment Pete and Angela entered my life, it’s been a party. They are not together for more than an hour without laughter. Pete is light-hearted and Angela is the perfect counterpart to his joking personality. She is steadfast, beautiful and strong. You cannot know them with out knowing their families and friends. Angela and Pete surround themselves with love in every aspect of their lives. Proof that when you have good friends, family and great food… anything is possible!
I was also highly impressed how organized Angela was with such a large wedding. Every member of her 18 person bridal party was on time, made-up, dressed and ready to go when I arrived. I nearly passed out! It’s a true testament of Pete and Angela’s friend’s commitment to their love.
I was so blessed to have them come into my life. I am better as a photographer and person for knowing Pete and Angela and their amazing clan of loved ones. All my love and appreciation to you both.
I can’t even stand how stand how stunning Angela looked. She rocked her Martina Liana gown and Badgley Mischka shoes
Oh, wait you want to see more of those shoes? Well, of course!
I loved the way Angela used the lace and rosary heirlooms for her bouquet. The rosary was her “something blue.” French’s Flowers did an amazing job.
Angela and Pete chose to do a first look and all their bridal party images before hand. Their ceremony was later in the day and we didn’t want to lose light as it gets dark so early in the fall now.
First look images are always my favorite!
The Baronette Hotel had a beautiful patio for fall foliage.
I usually don’t post family portraits, but I just couldn’t get enough of Angela’s parents. They are salt of the Earth. The most loving, hilarious family I have ever met. Also, Angela’s dad is a force to be reckoned with on the dance floor! Keep reading for those images.
Before the ceremony we headed downtown Detroit to the Riverwalk for pictures.
The Renaissance Center made a great backdrop for the guys. They also had people walking up asking to have their picture taken with them. It was very odd. Like they were some kind of celebrities. Pete and Angela were nice enough to oblige. Only in Detroit…
These black and white images of Angela, may be some of my favorites yet. She is so gorgeous, I can’t stand it!
When they told me their ceremony was at St. Florian’s in Hamtramck I about passed out. And now you can see why.
We headed back to The Baronette Hotel and I had a field day photographing all the details.
Angela and Pete’s menu brought together their Italian and Polish heritage. It was love on a plate. Angela’s family company also designed the menu cards and invitations.
Loved all the dancing! Scroll down to see Angela’s dad break it down on the dance floor!
Angela and her dad chose Ain’t No Mountain High Enough, as their song and it set a great tone for the rest of the night.
Love, love love… Angela’s dad and her uncle’s tore it up!
Pete and Angela… Thanks for an amazing party and for making me laugh all day long!
