We began the drive up Michigan’s waterfront to Glen Arbor and the lake breeze made me feel calm. There is something about water that has always been soothing to me. “Up North” everything happens slower, sweater and cooler. I only wish Grand Rapids was closer.

When I walked into Barb and Mark’s shore vacation house, the mood was instantly relaxing. Their family sat playing games, relaxing on the porch and watching tv. It settled me right in for the day. Relaxed. Peaceful. Almost serene. As I made my way into the room where Barb was getting ready, she peered around the corner, and said “Oh hey!” We was primping and relaxing as I met Mark who instantly welcomed me like one of the family. I couldn’t have felt more at home. Even writing this, I feel calmer just thinking about Barb and Mark’s wedding.

It was a great way to start off my wedding season!

I was so glad my friend Jenna was able to come along. Having a second shooter is always such a help.

Barb purchased all her accessories locally in Sterling Heights.

I love everything about this image below. It may be a hard one to beat this wedding season. There is a sense of calm and beauty in it that I just can’t get over.

I love that Barb and Mark danced in the middle of the living room. Love is defiantly sweeter the second time around.

Let me just tell you. This was the best cake I have ever had. Hands down. Amazing and so creative. Many thanks to Cakes By Aunt B in Lake Ann.

Barb and Mark, thank you for a beautiful day!
