I’m looking back again like I did in the My First Wedding post last week. This time not as far, just to this year. These images are in no particular order, but they are some of my favorites from this wedding season. I’m not picking favorites with any of my couples or wedding locations. I love them all. These images are just what I feel are my personal best. Also, there are little of me shooting and looking like a dork mixed in.
Kate and Jon’s wedding at Watermark Country Club.

My assistant Brad took this. It’s one of my favorite black and whites of the year.

Barb and Mark’s wedding in Glen Arbor, MI

Michelle and Paul’s Weddingin Grand Ledge, MI.
Have you noticed a very black and white theme here? Yes, I love it so!

Amber and Tyler’s wedding in Grand Rapids, MI. This was a June wedding. I wasn’t expecting it to be extremely hot, but holy moly! It was the hottest day of the summer and the humidity… it was like walking around under a heated blanket in the middle of the desert. (Yes, that’s hot!) I was shooting with the 85mm lens here between f/1.4-2.0 and standing on a slight hill while Amber was below me. I felt myself starting to sway and felt like I might pass out. At that same moment, Amber looked at me and said, “Misty… I think I’m done.” I totally read her mind. We needed AC and fast! But she toughed it out for these shots and looks amazing.

Again, hottest day of the year… I decide to lay in the grass. But it was worth it for this shot. 50mm f/1.4

Sometimes you need a little help with those darn cake ribbons.

Ground shot again, but it ended up being one of my favorite ring shots. And yes, I stole that leaf off a tree…

Jenny and Paul’s wedding at the Royal Park Hotel.

During the family photos. I look very focused for some reason.

My wonderful friend, fellow photographer and sometimes assistant, Jenna took this one of Paul while waiting for the first look.

Notice the two guys on the left. Perfectly ok with linking arms. I thank them for not complaining and being good sports!

Ok, did you seriously think I’d have an end of year post and not include shoes?!

This is the day I met Jimmy. Note to self: Never make this face again.

Jenna and I have almost this exact same shot. Proof that great minds really do think alike.

I like shiny things…

Angela and Pete’s wedding in Novi, MI. She is simply stunning.

St. Florian’s Church in Hamtramck, MI. I really have no words for this image. Only to tell you that I shot it at 1600 iso and the Canon 5D MKII made it look like butter… (that’s photo lingo in case you didn’t know)

Love this image of them dancing.

Donna and Adam’s wedding takes the cake for best first look excitement I’ve ever seen.

I love them. SO much!

These were the prettiest deviled eggs I ever did see. At San Chez in Grand Rapids, MI

I really got a kick out of seeing my engagement images on a cake! Many thanks to Desserts by Lori.

I still have this candle holder/wine glass sitting in my office. Very cute favor idea from BeauCoup.

Elyse and Joe’s wedding in Mt. Clemens, MI. Some of my favorite getting ready images. More black and white of course.

It always helps when you have a groom who’s a fireman…

To wrap up… I love my clients! I am incredibly lucky to shoot at so many beautiful locations. I make a living from my art and that’s a very powerful thing. I never thought I’d be doing this five years ago.
Also… I really don’t wear the same thing to every wedding, I promise. However, the headband does make frequent appearances as it’s good to keep my hair out of my face. And of course, must lose 500 pounds…
To my clients, friends, family, and random people who read my blog (all 2 of them).. THANK YOU. I am forever humbled and grateful for your love and support! Have a Merry Holiday season!
